My Orion 9.1 database took a hard nose dive and is horribly corrupted. Support wasn't able to help, so I had to start over.
Of course the first recommendation was to upgrade to Orion v9.5, and that seems like a great idea. The local SQL server next to my Orion install is only on SQL 2000. Our SQL 2005 install is in another province, with approximately 15ms latency between the orion server and new potential SQL server.
Upgrading orion and installing to a new database, and finding some magical way to import nodes and interfaces may be my only way to repair my monitor situation.
My question(s) are;
A) How well can I expect Orion to work with a remote database with a tiny bit of latency between sites?
Is it possible to import nodes and interfaces from a text file, alternative database, alternative table with Orion 9.5? I tried copying tables within 9.1 from my 'broken' db to my 'working' db - the nodes work, but for some reason all of my syslog crap is broken. Dropping tables and inserting new tables is a bit aggressiev so I'd love there to be a better way to do this.
