Database Replication
ftsang
I am currently in the process of planning an Orion implementation. I will have 2 servers that will be running SQL server. One will serve as the primary, the other as backup.
I've been told by Solarwinds support that there is no real-time replication of the database at this point. With that being the case, I'm wondering if I can schedule a nightly backup of the primary database and then a restore to the backup database. The Orion database mananager does include scheduling for the database but not for a restore. does anyone know if there's a way to do it within SQL server itself? Has anyone ever set up a failover scenario before? Thanks for the help.

I'm not an SQL expert, but have you looked at clustering?
