Interface Gauges
thare
Does version 7 support interface gauges for absolute values (i.e. bps) as opposed to just percent utilization gauges. We upgraded to version 7 but seem to have lost the ability to view gauges that show us how much traffic in real bits per seconds are being passed.
If this isn't available, then they took out a very valuable feature.

Yes, it looks like the BPS gauges have been removed.
I find the BPS graphs more useful, so I don't mind this.
However some of the other gauges have changed as well
The response time gauge is now limited to display 0-2500ms only.
None of our network devices are over 110ms, so this does not provide much useful info
down at the far end. Kinda like putting a speedometer for a fighter jet in a car....
The old gauge used a sliding scale which was better than this, but ultimately it would be
nice if we could select our own scale. I tried to find where these graphs are stored,
but it appears the are generated by an ASP page.

You can set your own scale for the Response Time Gauges.
Download the following ASP files and place them in your NetPerfMon web site.
ftp.solarwinds.net/.../ResponseTimeGaugeScale.zip
Then from your NPM web site, bring up "/NetPerfMon/Admin/ResponseTimeGaugeScale.asp" and change the Scale.
