Oversize packets being sent from the poller to the database

I'm seeing packets being sent from my poller to my database that are flagged as oversize (>1520). From the packet I can see it is statistics being sent. Seems that the data area may be the problem (>1400). Has anyone else seen this?

How about a packet of size 3929 (data being 3871); obviously not supported on Gigabit Ethernet with a standard MTU.
