Migrate HP Insight Manager to Orion NPM

Hi all.

I'm new to this forum, so I am reaching out for some assistance.

I am looking to migrate our HP System Insight Manager 4.2 data (systems, events, alerts, etc) over to Orion's NPM 10.0.0 infrastructure.

Does anyone know of any migration tools, 3rd party software, import/export functions that would make this process fairly straightforward?

I want to avoid having to manually enter all of our systems into Orion.

Any help would be "greatly" appreciated.

You could use a seed file with the Network Discovery Wizard for your devices. Alerts you will need to recreate.
Open your seed file.
Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Configuration and Auto-Discovery > Network Discovery.
Click Add New Discovery.
If you need to supply new SNMP credentials to discover the devices in your seed file, click Add New Credential, provide the required information, and then clickAdd. For more information, see “Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard”.
If you intend to import known ESX servers and you need to supply new ESX credentials to discover these servers in your seed file, complete the following steps on the Local ESX Credentials for VMware view:
Check Poll for ESX.
Click Add ESX Credential.
Provide the required information, and then click Add.
For more information, see “Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard”.
Click Next, and then click Specific Nodes in the Selection Method menu.
Copy and then paste the IP addresses or hostnames of the devices you want Orion NPM to discover from your seed file into the provided field.
Type only one IPv4 address or hostname per line.
Click Validate to confirm that the provided IP addresses and hostnames are assigned to SNMP-enabled devices.
If you have provided all the IP addresses and hostnames you want to discover, click Next.
Complete the Network Discovery and Network Discovery Results Wizards. For more information, see “Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard”.
