I can't disable the trend line on any graph in 10.1.2
I have a machine running 10.1.2 and I don't see that issue. Suggest you open a ticket.

Yep - That resource does have the problem but % Util line chart (The one I tested) doesn't.

let me clarify 2 things here:
1. you can't really verify this for Demo server as we intensionally allow persistent customization there.
2. Issue occurs only when you click refresh button to see changes immediately (confirmed issue that Andy mentioned above). As workaround it's enough to use Submit button so you'll have changes applied persistently
hopefully that should allow you to move forward with using charts in a way you want.

Why even have the trend check box if it can't be disabled by a user without "allow the Account to customize the Views"
