How do you find MIBs/OIDs?

I would be interested to know how Orion users have been able to find the custom MIBs and OIDs they need to configure custom pollers.

Do you use Google searches?

What useful web sites have you found that tend to be helpful?

Do you get much help from going to the vendor (Cisco, HP, Dell, etc.) support web sites?

I find the site at the link below useful for Cisco MIB's

Most manufacturer's websites will have information about monitoring hardware through SNMP. You can also call the manufacturer. Google searches is another good tool. I have been able to gather all of my OIDs by Google searches and searches on the manufacturer's webistes.

You can also download a trial of the Engineers toolset and scan a hardware device. It will return all supported OIDs of a particular device. There are also third party SNMP-walkers or MIB-walkers that will return that information.
