URGENT, need help about additional polling engine

1. Exactly which ports should be open between the additional polling server and the database server?

2. Exactly which ports should be open between the additional polling server and the monitored network?

3. I installed additional polling server. Response time, packet loss, traffic... infact everything that is not polled through the UnDP is ok. But the UnDP values are not polled - I get "No data" on my Node Detail pages. Why? Is this a "some port somwhere not opened" issue, or perhaps I need to do something for UNDP on the additional polling server to work?

Orion Network Performance Monitor
The following list provides the various ports that are utilized by Orion NPM depending on which services are enabled.

Orion NPM statistics collection uses UDP port 161.
Orion NPM Syslog Service uses UDP port 514 for incoming messages.
The Orion NPM Trap Server listens for incoming trap messages on UDP port 162.
The Orion Trap Viewer uses port UDP 161.
Access to the SWIS API requires port 17778 HTTPS.

for ports there is a pdf file in the content exchange zone which lists all needed ports!

Details can be found there,I think tcp/17777,17778,1433 is required for connection between orion servers, depending on what modules you are running and what you are monitoring you need to of course open more ports to properly get the data from the devices.

Should we open both TCP and UDP 443(in,out) on the firewalls?

In other words, is it possible to undp on additional polling engine, or additional polling engines are usable just for ping, traffic etc?

Yes, you can use UnDP's for your nodes on an additional poller.

The first thing I would check would be to make sure that both your main poller and additional poller can contact each other on port 17777, and that they can resolve each others hostnames.

If that's fine, then you should log a support ticket, and send us in a diagnostics from both polling engines (Start -programs - Solarwinds Orion - Documentation and Support - Orion Diagnostics).
