Report for interfaces at 75% utilization for at least 1 hour

All,

I'm trying to use report writer to only list interfaces that have been at 50% transmit utilization greater than or equal to 1 hr. For example: If an interface is at 50% utilization for only 30 minutes, I don't want to know about it.

Is this possible? If so, can someone kindly provide some direction?

yes, it is possible. I have a report that is similar to what you need. I will modify it when I get a chance and post it here for you.

You might consider creating an Advanced Alert to monitor the interface by 50% xmit util >= 1 hour and then when it triggers write an event into the System Events Log (even using your own wording) and then you might use Report Writer to report on those Events which could include node info/interface info plus date/time as you build the report.

Otherwise its difficult (for me anyway) to write SQL code to convert timestamps into hours/minutes on the fly. Report Writer needs some added funtionality to convert periods into hours/minutes/seconds.

Any luck with this? I also need this type of report, I could go the advanced alert--event log--report writer option, but this seems like it could be done via SQL from just report writer and would be a little less cumbersome.

If anyone has written something like this and could post up some code it would be appreciated.
