Need help w/ customizing events.

Here's a challenge for the group...because I'm stuck.

The event resources included w/ Orion aren't really that flexible right out of the box. However, there are a couple of options that are part of the resource code:

Set Events = Server.CreateObject("OrionNPMWeb.Events")
Events.NetObject = NetObject
Events.MaxEvents=MaxEvents
Events.Period=Period
'Events.EventType=0
Events.DoDetailReport

However, what I'm trying to do is create a resource to select an arbitrary list of events. I'd like to accomplish this by using a bitmask so that any particular event type could be selected.

Also, the scripts that generate this output are encoded. Not being an ASP coder by trade, this makes what I want to do very difficult.

This is a bitmask I'd like to specify:

0x0000.0000.0000 - All Events

0x0000.0000.0001 - Node Down
0x0000.0000.0002 - Node Warning
0x0000.0000.0004 - Node Up
0x0000.0000.0008 - Node Removed
0x0000.0000.0010 - Node Added
0x0000.0000.0020 - Node Rebooted
0x0000.0000.0040 - Node Managed
0x0000.0000.0080 - Node Unmanaged
0x0000.0000.0100 - Node Changed

0x0000.0000.0200 - Critical System Error

0x0000.0000.1000 - Interface Down
0x0000.0000.2000 - Interface Up
0x0000.0000.4000 - Interface Shutdown
0x0000.0000.8000 - Interface Unknown
0x0000.0001.0000 - Interface Added

Using a chart like the one above, I could define the mask for all node
events as 0x0000.0000.01FF. Likewise, interfaces would be 0x0000.07FF.0000.

The script would then parse the bitmask to add the multiple event types into the SQL query.

Pretty much, I'm trying to separate my event list from my generated alert/reset list. However, the above snippet would allow any arbitrary set of event types to be selected.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to go about this?

Did you ever figure this one out?  I need to turn off Interface Up and Interface Down events because we get them all the time and they are not considererd errors.
