V8 Upgrade

I'm now looking at whether upgrading to v8 is worth it at the moment while there are some outstanding issues with Custom MIB poller as this is the one part of new product I was most looking forward to.

Can you let me know if

It's worth up grading to v8 or to wait for the next release hoping that the problems in the poller are sorted out?

Also can v7 be upgraded directly to v8 or do I have to unistall first, I've downloaded v8 but there are not any upgrade notes with it?

After testing V8 for a few weeks, I could never get the Custom Polling to work at all. Until it's definite that the issues I was experiencing have been resolved, I won't be upgrading. In addition, the version I was using did not fix another very useful feature, alert macros.

I would wait until 8.1 before upgrading. It really pains me to say it, but the current state of the Custom Poller is disappointing, at best. I'm sure Solarwinds can pull it together, but it's going to take more time.

When I called to get my account moved to V8, support informed me that a new version with many bug fixes would be out on the 12th.

Application monitor and Wireless monitor supposedly will work then.

The updated version that Tech Support was referencing, 8.0.1, has now been released and is avaialble for download from the SolarWinds.Net website.
