I installed an configured the Orion NPM eval using the express option which uses the MS 2005 sql database. In preparation for purchasing NPM SLX and migrating the database I downloaded the instructions for migrating the database and found I could not connect as per the instructions.
Solution: go to
program files\Microsoft SQL Server 2005\Configuration Tools\Sql Server Configuration Manager
open the Network Configuration Protocols and enable TCP/IP. Then restart the sql server.
You should now be able to open the Orion Database Manager, find your sql server, and connect using NT Auth settings.
