Old customizations & v8?

All,
With the v8 release just around the corner I'm curious if all the custom tweaks people have done with v7 over the years will no longer work with v8? What comes to mind are things like the interface traffic popups, the IP management thing Chris is working on,etc.
I suppose there is no way to know at this point, but it seems that could be a possibility since many things are changing with v8...
Just thought I'd bring it up..

The structure shouldn't change, so hopefully everything should still work.
