Merging interfaces?

I would really love the ability to "merge" two interfaces in the form of either it being part of the normal tools, or maybe a separate utility? This would be awesome for things like when you replace a router off-lease and it forces you to change what interface it was on. Or even if you do something like go from a single T1 to a multilink bonded couple of T1's. Its seems so wasteful to just discard that old data when changes happen...

We normally do this in SQL, just checking the old and new NodeID / InterfaceID in the SQL or via interface details dialog box.

For earlier version this did the trick:

Update InterfaceTraffic
Set NodeID=%NewNodeID%, InterfaceID=%NewInterfaceID%
Where NodeID=%OldNodeID% And InterfaceID=%OldInterfaceID%

Version 8.5 did split the data in separate tables so you need to do one update pr table:

Update InterfaceTraffic_Detail
Set NodeID=%NewNodeID%, InterfaceID=%NewInterfaceID%
Where NodeID=%OldNodeID% And InterfaceID=%OldInterfaceID%

Update InterfaceTraffic_Hourly
Set NodeID=%NewNodeID%, InterfaceID=%NewInterfaceID%
Where NodeID=%OldNodeID% And InterfaceID=%OldInterfaceID%

Update InterfaceTraffic_Daily
Set NodeID=%NewNodeID%, InterfaceID=%NewInterfaceID%
Where NodeID=%OldNodeID% And InterfaceID=%OldInterfaceID%

I Also find it easiest to stop monitoring of the old node until you have moved the statistics or else you might have to limit the datetime for update also.
