Orion NPM with Engineers Toolset Integration

Hi Guys,

Need some help with the follwing -

Installed SL500 version of orion V7.5, set everything up ok. I then installed the engineers toolset V8, everything appeared to install fine and the Toolset work fine on it's own however...From Orion System manager I should be able to run tools by right clicking the interface of a node, eg - If I right click then select "real time gauge" it comes up an error saying that real-time bandwidth monitor is not installed! I know it is installed because it works from the toolset. Also, you know how the toolset comes with a scaled down Orion NPM, if I use that, add Node etc then right click an interface then the gauge will load immediately. There must me some kind of mixup with the integration of the 2 programs but I'm new to this software, can anyone help please? Have I installed the engineer's edition to the wrong directory for Orion to use it? I'm a bit stuck!

Simple question....do the toolsets have to be installed on the server or on the user desktop?

I have 7.6 loaded on a server and the EE toolset (V8) on my laptop and I have no right-click options.

I too have the same issue... it was working with Orion 7.5 and EE7 but after I upgraded to EE8 I now get this message...

Plus the integration into the html web pages is nowhere to be found.... anyone got any ideas now's the time to air them!! [}:)]

I have checked under my account that says allow broswer integration. That is set to YES. I also have allow secure data on Website checked under System Manager on the server. I have placed my server in "Trusted Servers" list in IE where all ActiveX is enabled.

I'm running out of ideas. [:(!]

I downloaded v8 of the EE of the toolsets and if you read the release notes the right click integration with Orion will be in v7.6 of Orion. The toolset needs to be on a local machine.

I have e-mailed Solarwinds to find out why they are already advertising v7.6 of Orion when it's still only in beta.

Once it's released it will make a great product outstanding.

I guess I will have to wait till Orion 7.6 goes gold before I can use this functionality..

any ideas when this will happen anybody?!?

V7.6 should be close. If you didn't get it but I was emailed this week asking for feedback to V7.6 in regards to perceived "slowness" when running the new version. It sounds like they are waiting to hear from people before they release it.

Just wanted to update everyone with the issue I had. I basically, no matter what I did, could get the right-click to work for me. I had the latest installed of the V7.6 beta and EEV8 toolsets.

After several suggestions from Solarwinds we uncovered the issue. There is an IIS URL Scan tool that can potentially block things from running. In out case, because we secure these servers down, URL Scan was blocking all .exe files from being run. And in order to get the right-click working you have to let swtoolset.exe run from the site.

You will see something like this in \windows\system32\inetsrv\urlscan\logs

Client at X.X.X.X: URL contains extension '.exe', which is disallowed. Request will be rejected. Site Instance='1', Raw URL='/SWToolset.exe'

That is something you will need to allow.

Install 7.5 250
Install 8 toolset
Right click to launch RTBM works

I used default directories for the install

I was expecting more integration with web browser though. I call tech support and it seems as though that is in Beta
