Map Maker closes when I try to add map

Anyone know what the fix is for this? I open map maker, chose new map and the program closes.

Do not open the new map from the Big Buttons in the middle of the page.
Instead go to the menu bar at the top of the page and select: File> new map
or hit ctrl+n

All the large buttons seem to crash the Orion programs when I try opening something
with them - Report Writer, Map Maker, Alerts, etc.
