Orion Application Monitor Beta

I've just noticed in my licenses that I have a license for the App monitor beta, but cannot find where I can download it from.
Has anyone else downloaded the beta and if so what was the link you were given to download from?
Thanks

HI Jon,
I had to contact SW support to get a copy of the application monitor beta.
It works fairly well, however they only provide a 30 day license and then it stops functioning. I have asked SW a few times when they expect to release this product but have not had a reply.
This is one of the features that I used to sell our implementation of the product. If I don't get it working again fairly quickly my director is going to get more than a little upset. Now that I have finished complaining for the day I feel much better.
Be fantastic.

Hello again Jon,
I now have both the application monitor and wireless management packs for Orion.
I contacted SW support. They gave me a quote. I got a PO and the sales goons sent me a link to both software packages.
Of the two the wireless pack is more valuable. It provides a wide range of very important info for any network admin: number of wireless users, top 10 users and access points, total bytes TX/RX per user, etc...
The application monitor pack, although not quite as useful, still provides valuable information for any important processes you may have running on Windows or Xnix servers. Knowing when a critical process/daemon is up or down and how much system resources are being eaten up by said process is very valuable to our system admins.

Thanks Issac.
Are the Management Packs integrated with the Alerting System or is that still being developed?
JMP
The app monitor alerting is still being developed. Not sure about the wireless, but at first glance I didn't see it in there.

A new Alerting Engine is also under development. The new Alerting Engine will completely replace the current Alert Engine.
These Management Packs will use the new Alert Engine. So... no alerting will be available within the Management Packs until the new Alert Engine is released. It should be available as a pre-release in a few weeks. You can get more information about this directly from SolarWinds support.

Don,
Thanks for the teaser on the new alerting engine.
What I would really like to see is the ability to configure alerts based on custom properties. It would really be nice to be able to control which devices/interfaces are tied to which alerts from within Custom Property Editor. This would save time when adding new devices, especially for customers who have a significant number of devices/interfaces and somewhat extensive alerting. Once all your basic views, maps, alerts, and reports are created, devices and interfaces can easily be associated with all of them from CPE, thus reducing config time within Orion.
I guess this may stick out more in my mind because we might soon be greatly increasing the number of devices we manage with Orion (by a factor of about 300%+). Along with that, our alerting will become much more granular as well.
Thanks,
Vic

Building Alerts based on Custom Properties is easy within the new Alert Engine.

Yay!!!
Thanks Don. Looking forward to seeing this, and other new developments.
