Can't delete a custom property column.

In the Custom Property Editor, we created a custom property from scratch for Nodes, now I want to delete it. I tried the remove button, and checked the box of the one I wanted to delete, didn't delete it. Should I just delete it from the database directly?

I'm not sure why that didn't work. Yes, delete it from the DB directly.

Follow these steps:

1. Delete the column from the database.

2. Run Custom Property Editor.

3. Select ‘Add Custom Property’

4. Click OK.

Sorry for bringing up an old post like this but how would you delete from the database? I'm facing a situation where I can't delete the custom property I created. The error message is CustomPropertyName for Orion.Nodes is used to define a group expression. I don't see where this is defined anywhere so maybe finding that out first can help. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I think I found the solution. I had this defined in a group dynamic query. I removed that and was able to delete this field.

This is the correct answer.

SW will not allow you to delete a custom property if it is in use in any capacity.

All of the dynamic group membership rules can be found in the "ContainerMemberDefinitions" table in the SW database. Using a join statement you can find the name of the group using the dynamic query.

This SQL can be used to help:
