SSH in right click menu

I am fairly new to Orion NPM and would like to add a menu item to the menu that appears when you right click on an object for our SSH client. I have heard that this is possible and relatively easy. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Well Firstly You must have toolset installed and Toolset integration on for that account

Toolset 9.x doesn’t come with that but on the machine you could download An SSH client Like Putty and place it on c:\root On the machine that has toolset installed do the following

You can edit the “SWtoolset.menuOptions” in the C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Common folder and add other applications such as putty/custom scripts in there.

Backup your old File First or rename it

Add this line Into wherever you wish in the file

Remember This is all one Line

MenuOption Visible="TRUE" Title="Putty" BeginGroup="FALSE" HasSubMenu="FALSE" ExecString="C:\Putty.exe ${IP}" Icon="TELNET" Extra="" Parent="" Required="4"/>

you should now See putty on the list

This worked fine for me. However, if you cut and paste Joe's MenuOption line, you'll need to add the leading bracket "<" before pasting it into the file.

Running NPM 9.1 and I don't have that file. Should it be there?

How can i edit my SWtoolset menu options

I already have engineer toolset 9.2 installed on my NPM server.

This file isn't anywhere on my disk on solarwinds NPM v9.1 and SW Toolset v10 =( Is this a recent change?

This should still work, I just tested against a 9.1 SP4 install with toolset 10 install on my laptop. Where are you looking for the file? On my laptop it is located at C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Common

Just after I posted, I checked my own workstation. The file was there as expected. I don't actually have the toolset on here, but I like the right-click telnet/ssh ability posted here.

I've edited the menu options file and stopped/started services but when i right click

on NPM the putty option isn't there. Just telnet.

Putty is installed onto the machine in the right location though.

Has anyone tried this?

Nick, do you own Engineers Toolset? If so, you can edit the menu file on the backend to add items to launch via right click

This method worked for me on my server where we have our Engineer's Toolset installed. I am looking for a way to make it work on machines that don't have Toolset. Machines that don't have toolset, still get a right-click menu with a more limited featureset. I want to add (or modify) the WebBrowse option to browse the node as follows: https://<hostname or ip>:1311. This is the Dell Open Manage website for servers and would be an extremely handy right-click action item for us. Is there another file that controls this menu similar to the toolset menu described previously?
