Customizing Page

I am trying to customize the view on my home page. I want to monitor the applications for only Unix/Linux servers. I created a group and I can limit the view to only this group, but it does not show me the applications. If I want applications, I have to put the "All Applications Tree" on my home page which shows the Windows and networking equipment as well. How can I customize this to only show the Unix/Linux applications?
