How to display notifications on the main Status Bar

On the main status bar, along with Dashboards, Alerts, Reports etc. there is a bell with a number (the number of notifications) and a down arrow. If you click the down arrow, all is shows is the number of notifications, and Dismiss all. Doesn't it show what the notifications are?

Is your account set up to be a full admin of all the modules? IIRC only admins are even supposed to see that thing but maybe theres some permissions trickery at work.

The same information is displayed regardless if Admin logs in or my user with admin privileges.

Here I am logged in as a SolarWinds using the built in admin account and I can see the notifications.

But in the Orion demo as Guest I get what you described.

A reboot of the server resolved this trouble.

I am having this same problem. A reboot did not seem to help. I can no longer see the actual notifications.

Interestingly enough my notifications stopped being displayed this week again. A reboot fixed it last time, I will try and reboot again this weekend.

A reboot did not work this time. I still show the screen shot below. I am not sure what the notifications are. If you find out how to correct this please let me know.

I ended up just looking at what they were directly in the database, then dismissing them from the web gui. Now they show up again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder if there is a way to manually add your own notifications in that area? My current customer asked me about presenting a login pop-up when users login to present information about upcoming maintenance windows and other such information. The only option I could find so far was the persistant banner at the top of the page which doesn't seem to fit. Maybe if I could manually populate my own notifications in that panel it would be great!
