Report writer - using SQL commands
larry.rice
Is there a way to paste a SQL statement into report writer instead of using the select fields tab?
Thanks

Hmmm... RTM..
SQL can be entered directly into a Report only by designing a new Report using the Advanced SQL Reports option. The SQL query generated by Report Writer can be viewed for any Report by selecting Report4Show SQL from the menu, which adds a view-only SQL tab to the Design window.
Thought I tried it, but maybe not advanced.
I'll try again

All custom SQL queries need to be constructed in the report writer as an Advanced SQL.
Speaking of the report writer, it would be nice if there were a place to specify a string if the query returned nothing, instead of a blank space.
