Inserting a lot of network objects

Hi:

I need insert 1300 network objects in Orion NPM like this:

148.53.100.1 VPN-costumer1

148.53.100.2 VPN-costumer2

148.53.100.3 VPN-costumer3

My question: Is there any way to insert IP address and set nodename like above automatically ?

Or I need use "add a node" option manually ?

This might help you:

Network Discovery Using the Network Sonar Wizard in the NPM Admin Guide.

There's a step for discovering network objects where you know the IP addresses.

Network sonar works fine inserting snmp objects, but I need insert 1300 icmp objects. Is there any web robot to automate insert these objects using Orion web console ?

There's no API at present. I'm not understanding why you couldn't insert 1300 ICMP objects with network sonar.

When I'm using network sonar, I see "snmp comunity" in the first phase.

I think that I cannot insert a non snmp object.

Am I making any mistake ?

I am eagerly awaiting the API functionality. I need specifically to be able to bypass the controls of what's up or not up when adding nodes to monitor.

Basically, for me, I add them, then unmanage them. I want to be able to run a spreadsheet through a parser and populate the database how I want it, bypassing the validation steps. I also need to be able to set the ack flag on any alerts generated by the freshly added nodes. Simple stuff, I want to reduce amount of human intervention required as much as possible with the turnup process.
