NPM 10 new page layout can it be changed

We used to have hardley any header on version 9.5 after we removed the logo.

Now even with the logo gone it still has a huge header. This then pushes the map we have off the 42" screen we have on the wall. We have no menu bar assigned as it is not needed and I have removed the extra tabs that npm 10 gives you.

Is there a way of getting rid of the new header layout or viewing a map full screen so it refreshes and still works. I found that if I click on the title of the map it does display it in full screen but it dosn't seem to refresh unless it has this anoying header.

Any help would be appreciated.

Great, thanks for the ideas the &Printable=TRUE works well. We adjusted the title/date/time in the csv so it is shrunk down.

On our 42 inch plasma screen I put the following vb script into the startup folder.

If you use Firefox press F11.. this will help a bit.. but is not the solution.

Thanks for your suggestion, we currently use IE 7 and use it in kiosk mode. So the full screen works fine, just the header has increased in height which means the map has been lowered.

All our maps are set with backgrounds to the correct pixels for the screen I was hoping to save my self work as we have 40 maps that used to fit on this screen perfectly. But now don't

I have now got it back to a good size.

I adjusted the css sheets, made the header text small and resource header small. I also adjusted the size of the logout text.

This all giving me a whole 50px~ reduction in header height and my map now can be seen again.

It is not an ideal solution, I still think NPM should come with a full screen option for when you want to display a summary page on full screen. For example the option to remove all headers.

Question for SolarWinds,
Are there any plans to add an option for NOC screens to do a FULL map view (subtracting any headers from the screen and resource)? If there is not already, can we suggest this as a feature request?

We append '&Printable=TRUE' to all the views for our NOC screens, this chops offthe logo and the menu bars.

The page name and date still takes up far too much room at the top for my liking but I will look at that one day.

@liam83 Where did you adjust the css sheets? I'm concerned about modifying them and changing the entire site rather than a specific node view. Ultimately we want to have the map and accompanying nodes fill the entire screen rather than having the Orion gradient framework around it. Seems like that's not going to be possible without a CSS hack, even with the &Printable=TRUE

If you use Firefox you can actually override the CSS for a domain or even just a page:

I haven't had a chance to test this out yet, but I'll let you know if I have problems.

I have had fewer issues using firefox on my displays, Printable=true, and creating customized views for my display. I use an add-on to force full screen at start, the scrolbar on the side is only visable when content is off the screen, and I have a vbs script and windows task scheduler to autoflip through the screens.

The main reason I'm looking at a cusomized CSS for the displays is so that I can adjust the size and visability fo all the objects on the display.

By the way on your orion server the CSS is located in \Inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\styles

You may need these to help understand how all the styles are put together, but I would not change them unless you want to effect all users using your server.
