syslog from NT and XP?

Question

I am new to solarwinds. I upgraded to 8.5.1 today no problem.  I am trying to set up the syslog event handler.  I have been able to use port 514 to trap logging into solarwinds - no problems with routers and switches - all of the events show up that I expect, but I don't know how to set logging up on an NT or XP box so that log messages will land in solarwinds syslog.  I looked at the admin manual and still no luck.  Any advice?  thanks

FYI, we're working on an updated beta version of Log Forwarder that includes:

* Support for Windows XP/2000
* Support for Vista/2008
* Fully extensible filtering of Events
* Silent install support using MSI (e.g. for use with Microsoft SMS)

You need to download and install the SolarWinds Windows Event Log Forwarder on the computers you wish to receive Windows Event Logs from. The SolarWinds Windows Event Log Forwarder should be available download for download in your customer portal account.
