Net-SNMP 5.0.9 for Solaris 9 x86
mjhamilton
Anyone know where I can find a version of Net-SNMP 5.0.9 for my Solaris 9 servers running on intel architecture (x86)???
I am using this on all my SUN boxes with no problem and it would seem that 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 are no good (don't support volume mibs correctly).... 5.1.1 is the only version I can find for x86 so at the moment I am stuffed... can only monitor CPU, RAM and NIC at the moment...
Ideas/thoughs would be nice.

I would like to know also, but for Solaris 8. This seems to be a known bug. Surely, there are more people trying to use Orion and Solaris?

I got it working on Solaris 10 but the Network Interfaces all come up been "down" CPU and mem looks fine for now.

This in my opinion is one of the most anoying things about this product. you have use 5.0.9 if you upgrade the net-snmp version it won't work right and I've seen it drive my snmp process cpu utilization through the roof. Well I have alot of flavors of unix and finding the 5.0.9 src is not so easy anymore. And for some reason Solarwinds doesn't keep a copy of the source so make sure you use 5.0.9. I only get mumblings when I call about this and no informations that it's being worked on at all. If someone from solarwinds wants to pipe up and tell me it's being worked on and will be resolved I'd be very happy to hear it.

I am really corncern about this issue, we have evaluated Orion at tech level and my boss does not want to present it to the directors because we can't monitor CPU & memory usage in our linux, solaris & bsd servers.
We have very strict policies about changing/installing new things (incliding MIB's) at servers, and I could say sadly that Orion will not be accepted because of this impairment, any hope it will in the immediate future?
