DirectLink

Question

Is there a way to stop DirectLink from refreshing everyone's view. I have enabled DirectLink to allow access to Topology Maps and for use on display boards. My problem is whenever DirectLink refreshes it becomes what anybody who is logged in sees. The user has to log out and then back it.

Torrie, I believe the refresh is written into the .ASP code for each type of web view.
It's really not possible to turn it off, without affecting everyone else's web views refresh.

However, if there is a single particular view type you link to with the directlink account, you could make a copy of the .ASP code for that view & disable the refresh (although that would defeat the purpose of Orion, as you would be looking at stale data after 5 minutes).

I can't specifically answer the DirectLink question, as we don't use it, but as a suggestion, if you're using Windows Pass-Thru authentication, perhaps you can make the views in question available to anyone via a Domain\Everyone account. Naturally, this depends on your security preferences, but I thought I would throw it out there. :)
