Can not install Orion NPM 9.1 SLX

Question

When trying to install Orion 9.1 SLX I am getting the following error:

You cannot upgrade directly from your current version of Orion because it is older than Orion v8.0.

I uninstalled the old version of Orion NPM which was version 8.0.  It still won't let me install the new version, anyone have a solution?

Yes, it looks like some registry entries hanging around. I would open a ticket if possible.

I did an uninstall of Orion 8.0.  I deleted all folders that were left over that the uninstall did not remove.  I am guessing there are a bunch of registry entries that need to be removed.  I guess I can submit a ticket to support, I was just curious if anyone else ran into the same issue.  Also I did not have any modules installed such as the app monitor.  An older verison of the engineers toolset was installed, but I uninstalled that as well.

Did you have any modules installed, such as Application Monitor? If so, you will need to uninstall it, Orion 9.1 does not support Application Monitor (only its replacement APM).

Can you ensure the installation folder has been deleted. Default location is C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion.

If you are still seeing this error you may need to open a support case. There may be some references to previous Orion versions still in the registry.
