Monitoring of VPN tunnels

Hello,

I have some questions:

I was wondering if it was possible to monitor VPN tunnels on a Cisco VPN Concentrator 3000.

Is there a way to import MIBS into Orion? I would like to monitor FI Accesspoints, VPN concentrators etc.. It's all Cisco equipment.

One last question about charts:

Is there a way to make a chart on the website that displays the sum of the transmit and receive traffic?

Good question. I also have a VPN concentrator 3000 and I have not been able to monitor VPN tunnels. I guess it will only be possible when they implement custom MIBs into the applications. Regarding your other question, I guess you have to dig a little bit more on the reporting capabilities and graph charts to make that happen. You can try customizing the pages.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one looking for the monitoring of the vpn tunnels.

Concerning the sum report, I made yep some custom pages, but you always refer to a standard query in these pasges. And I don't know how to define a custom query.

Good to know Orion does not see Cisco VPN tunnels on the 3000.
We are looking at replacing our Nortel Contivities (which Orion does see the tunnels) with Cisco. Perhaps this is another reason to stay Nortel for now.

You could write yourself a little report with the report writer to sum up transmit and receive for interfaces.

If you are looking for something that would integrate directly into a node view you will have to alter one of the chart resources (or build a resource from scratch).

If so I can go into the fairly grizzly details of putting this together.

Let me know either way.
