How to alert off high CPU and time over x amount?

I've been an Orion user for a while but can't figure out how to alert off high CPU Usage (or memory) after it stays high for a certain amount of high. CPUs spike all the time and I only want to know about it ifi ti goes high and stays there for a certain amount of time

You can use an Advanced alert for this requirement. On the Trigger Condition tab, you can designate an number of seconds, minutes or hours that the CPU usage must have been at the trigger level before the alert will fire. This setting is at the bottom of the page.

So, for instance, you can set the alert to fire when the CPU load has been at or above 75% for 15 minutes.

I believe so. I just upgraded to 8.5.1 this week from 7.somthing. so I'm new to the advanced alerts. I see the time for the trigger but I dont see where to select the node in question . I did just figure out how to create the condition (CPU load higher than 95%). I'll ge the manual up

Just click on the first Astrix there should be a - drop down that will give you Network Nodes -> Node name, etc... to select from.

So if I'm doing this right, my alert group for CPU high look like this for multiple servers? This means that any server in the list will alert if CPU is over 95% for more than 15 minutes?

Trigger alerart when ANY of the following apply:

CPU Load is greater that 95

Node name is equal to Server1

Node name is equal to Server 2

Node name is equal to Server 3

Do not trigger intill condition exists for more that 15 minutes

In the Trigger Condition tab, select "Node" in the "Type of Property to Monitor" drop down. Then click on the ellipsis in the window, select Add a Simple Condition. Now click on the first asterisk in blue. select Network Nodes-->Node Details--> then NodeName. Set the middle field to "is equal to", and then type the name of the node you want to alert on in the drop down box (or select from the node list that will pop up.

That will then set the alert to fir on that node under the conditions you set as per your previous post

I did, so to speak. I added 3 servers and set CPU at 40% but is seems I'm alerting on everyserver I own that exceeds the threshold, not the 3 in the list. THe list is exactly as shown above only with real names. perhaps its the condition "any" thats doing it?
