Hi,
We have a number of Mitel products that we wish to get further information on (apart from just pinging).
I wondered if anyone has managed to get the MIBs imported and if so whats the process?
Thanks
Gavin
Did you have any luck we have a few mitel systems and I'm trying to see what all we can monitor them for.
The process for updating MIBs is to open a case with support and email them the MIB file. Usually 7-10 days later you will be notified that the new MIB database is ready to download. Copy it to the proper location in the documentation and then restart the services.
However a MIB file really only helps to define the OID into a text name. If you know the OID number you are looking for you can build a custom poller directly against that.
Thanks for the info. What I'm really trying to decide is if its worth it to monitor mitel systems what kinds of stuff can we monitor on them? Monitoring for up down status does not seem to be very effective because users of a phone system know its down before solarwinds can send an alert.
Your best bet is to look at the MIB to see what information is available. With any luck you should be able to create custom pollers telling you trunks are down or taking errors.
