Orion v7.22 to v8.1 DB Migration Problem

I have done the following steps:

1. Backup DB from old Server to NetPerfMon.BAK

2. Install SolarWinds-Orion-V8.1-SL500.exe in new Server

3. Apply License

4. Restore the DB to the SQL 2005 in new Server

5. Start the Configuration Wizard and specify the instance as the restored DB

when I click Continue, the following error occurs:

Error connecting to NetPerfMon

The Database is not an Orion Database

Invalid object name 'ViewsByDeviceType'

It seems that Orion cannot detect the DB is of version 7.22

Please let me know how I can proceed the migraton.

Yes- the 8.1 license will work going to 8.5

4. Restore the DB to the SQL 2005 in new Server

Try restore the DB with DatabaseManager. Not with SQL Server Management Studio

We don't support direct upgrade from anything before 7.8.5. You can contact Support for a copy of 7.8.5. Since you've started already, Support can also help you complete what you've done.

I have Uploaded 7.8.5 to you customer Portal

Please log in with your Customer Id and password.

Go to downloads and Upgrades and You will see 7.8.5

Download and upgrade from here and then upgrade to 8.1

Please Also install the orion 8.1 hotfixs whoich are also available at your Portal

I have ALSO updates your case number with same details
