I know that the old and now retired BPM product would monitor DOCSIS CMTS and modems.
Does anyone use NPM 9.5 to monitor a DOCSIS network? If so how? Do you use the universal polling engine?
Lisser, If you used the Broadband product, the BSM would telnet into the CMTS and export some of that data it use to collect. The data collected from these telnet sessions is no longer available but there is a good amount of data that can be gathered from SNMP via the UnDP. If you do a MIB Walk with the tool in the Engineer's Toolset, you'll see the MIBs that need to be polled. The descriptions will all start with 'docs*'. Any hopes of BSM / BPM being revived? We are STILL using it (Orion 7 and the BPM module) because it does the job as designed, but with an imminent upgrade to a CMTS it doesn't behave well with (Casa C3200), all of the accumulated modem data goes by the wayside.
