Application Monitor Problem
ringo73
Application Monitor seems to show certain processes stop yet when I log in the servers both the services and the processes are running. Has anyone else run into this error or knows how to correct it. app monitor is 7.8.3 and the server is W2K3 SP1.

Depends on what you're monitoring. Case in point being Apache on a Linux box, it will spawn multiple httpd entries and if you do not turn off "Log Application Stop/Start Events" for httpd you will be flooded with alerts as it spawns and shuts down new instances. The master service istelf will still flag/alert if it fails in that scenario. Some more detail as to what you're having problems with may be helpful here so that people can jump in and tell you what's worked for them.

problem is the ntfrs.exe service at certain point during the day the solarwinds will show the application as stopped, log into the server and it is running, the fix that i had was to delete the monitored application and readd to the server
