After I upgraded to version 8.01 from 7.81, the maps which have been created from Microsoft Visio, now appear as a grey circle. Can anyone provide any help with this?

Go to the folder where you had the gif files in 7.x and copy them to the maps folder in 8.0 manually.

Could you please provide us with more details about the version of Visio you are using, the image format and the way you imported the images into Map Maker

I created the maps in Microsoft Visio 2003, file format .vsd. They are then Copied to the clipboard and paste special into Map Maker. I'm sure this is quite a widespread practice and am suprised there haven't been more instances reported.

Try saying the visio as a .jpg. Copy that to the maps directory and then select it to be your background. Once saved in MapMaker it will convert it to .gif.

I have found less issues with the graphics if I save them as a .gif (stick to the default format) directly from Visio
