You may be interested in (formerly Application Performance Monitor) for this kind of monitoring. You can find more info about SAM both on solarwinds.com and on thwack.

Maybe I am overlooking it, but I do not see a SAM template or component monitor for process threads. Just called support and they said they did not know and would have to research it. could you direct me to a process thread monitor?
