How often does Orion write to SQL DB

Hello,
Is there a timeframe where collected stats are sync'd/written to the SQL database. I re-installed using my existing DB, Orion seems to be ok but the SQL database itself has not incremented filesize now for over an hour. I do have a lot of RAM on the box, is it all in memory perhaps and then at a pre-determined time it writes the data to the hard-drive?
Also once the 2gb database limit is hit (im at 300mb currently) what happens? Does Orion just stop or does older data just get replaced with the newer stats?

I think we ran into the 2GB limit a while back and it no longer updated the database...but I can't remember for sure. We ended up upgrading to a full version of SQL.
