Hello,
Has anyone come across or done a comparison of the two products.
Any replies are greatly appreciated.CheersSaraf
Do you mean OpManager from Adventnet or Microsoft OperartionManager?
OpManger(Advnet):
We used Orion & OpMgr. at the same time. I replaced OpM with Orion because:
* it was more reliable
* better network device handling
* custom maps
* easier administration
but i missed the TCP Port Monitoring (but eh new APM should do this )
MS OpsMgr:
I thing you can't compare these tools. MS has a different approach to the monitoring topic
Thank you for the observations.
Comparison was with Adventnet.
It seems to me that wherever I am going OpManager is the biggest competitor for Orion. Can someone send me a comparison that they may have made of the products as a POC or as part of competitng product evaluation studies.
All answers will be greatly appreciated and shall help widening the SW community.
Best Regards
I found these two links but both of them does not have a perfect side-by-side comparison. There are some information missing... SolarWinds PM might want to have that corrected

For me, Opmanager interface has been less intuitive, maps were buggy, and getting in touch with support was always a problem... SolarWinds NPM has a better product although some features like the "CCTV view" from OpManager does not have an out of the box equivalent in NPM.
