Asking on the forums to see if anyone has had a similar issue and resolved prior to me raising a ticket with support.
A liitle background first.
We have an active / active installation of Solarwinds but plan to move to the HA model soon. We had an issue with our preffered active server which resulted in us having to trash the server and rebuild.
Because we dont use HA / SQL replication we effectively have 2 standalone SQL databases and for DR purposes when we wish to use the other active server as the preferred server we restore the DB from the other instance, make some changes and rerun the configuration wizard to get the server working.
Whilst this process worked well for NPM 11.5.2 it doesn't seem quite to work with NPM 12.1
Both servers are running NPM 12.1 (only using this version as we are currently restricted in having to use Server 2008 R2) but when we restore the DB from the other instance, make our changes and rerun the configuration wizard, on completion and restart of services the SYSLOG / TRAP services don't start.
Looking through THWACK already i have noticed that this is down to the software not having an active license to run NPM / NCM.
From the webconsole and license manager on the preferred active server i see the same license details listed as the other active instance and nothing (not even evaluation) for the preferred server.
Since we have an offline installation (No Internet Access) i cannot run the syncronize option and if i try to add the licenses manually it advises that the licenses are currently being used.
I have tried to run the 'New' License Manager V3 on the preferred server but it comes up with a pop-up to advise that there is a problem with your licensing system and that No Licensed Solarwinds Applications were found on this computer.
Has anyone ever had this issue and does anyone have any issues on how to resolve it, or is this one really needing a support ticket raised.
Cheers in Advance
