Does Orion NPM v10.1.2 reduce the database access than v10.0 sp1 at the standard polling?
Our customer uses Orion NPM v10.0 sp1. There are a lot of gaps in their chart. And there is a false positive events (Node is Down) on average every two or three days.
- They has a NPM SLX and 3 additional polling engines.
- Each polling engine server has about 7000 elements.
- They set the default polling interval settings.
The cpu and memory usage of Orion servers are good. But SQL Server seems to be a bottleneck because of the heavy I/O access.
I found a topic about Orion NPM 10.1.1 Service Pack 1.
Orion NPM 10.1.1 Service Pack 1 addresses the following issues:
- Improved performance for both the SolarWinds Collector and the Orion NetPerfmon service
Does the update reduce the db access ?(Does it help to remove the db bottleneck?)
I would like to know if there is a possibility that the upgrading from v10.0 sp1 to v10.1.2 sp1 resolves their issues (gaps and false positive events).
Would you please advise me?
