Help with Advanced Alert Setup

I am trying to set up a Advanced alerts that will trigger when a router goes down. We have seperate business units that routers fall under and the router names begin with a 3 letter designation. I have set up the following:

Vender is equal to Cosco

Node Status is equal to Down

Node Name contains CSS (one of the 2 designations)

My problem is that when I test it does not matter what 3 letter prefixc router I select, I get the alert on it, should it not only send nodes with the CSS at the begining of the name?? Any thoughts on how to do this?

When you use the "contains" condition, it will fire true if the string you are testing contains the string condition anywhere in the string. You should use the "Starts With" condition in your case.

Is your condition group set to all or any? if you are set to any only one of your three conditions need to be meet for the alert to trigger.

My alert condition is set to all and also I have tried it with 'starts with' nothing seems to work, I even tried a test on a non-cisco device and it triggered....Any thoughts?
