SNMP community string updated in NPM but interfaces showing as unknown

We have updated (i.e. changed) the SNMP community strings on some nodes, and I have validated that the new string is working by testing it when modifying the node in NPM. However, the interfaces are still showing as "unknown". Is this because the SNMP string that is now in the database isn't the same SNMP string that is being passed to the device? If so, how often does NPM refresh the SNMP string being passed from the value that is in the database?

Which version of NPM are running? We had issue in 10.1 regarding this behavior [interface polling didn't refresh community string from DB automatically, you had to restart NetPerfmonService]. It's fixed in latest version.

btw> refresh interval from DB is 30 seconds.
