"Nodes With Problems" filter

Question

I have been banging my head against a wall for a week now with this. The docmentation for the filters is the worst. I get 3 different answers when I try to find the proper syntax for a filter. InterfaceName, Interface.Name, IFName. UGGGGH!

I have 23 Cisco routers with ISDN backup. I want to add them to monitor when a site goes up on dial, but I do not want to constantly see all 23 in the "Nodes with Problems" when ISDN is down (99% of the time). I do however, want to see when one of those sites loses their main Serial interface. So I basically just want to filter out the BRI interfaces. Nothing has worked.

RTR_WALLINGFORD_CT   Node status is Up
                                        'BRI0/0:1-Bearer Channel - BR0/0:1' is Down.

It is my understanding that any monitored node that is down, has high ping time, or has packet loss will show up in the nodes with problems. I have not been able to filter this. I ended up just not monitoring those ports.

I believe you need to filter on the StatusDescription field.  Your filter would look something like this.

statusdescription not like '%BRI%'
