New Log Forwarder for Windows (available to customers on maintenance)

If you check the "Additional Components - Orion v8 and v9" section of your customer portal, you should see the new Log Forwarder for Windows. This was developed by the Kiwi Syslog team and replaces the old Windows Event Forwarder. It is available at no cost to Orion NPM and Kiwi Syslog customers current on maintenance.

The new Log Forwarder for Windows addresses many of the long outstanding enhancement requests:

Now runs on Windows Vista and Windows 2008 as well as Windows XP, 2003 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Supports silent install .MSI for remote software distribution (e.g., using Group Policy or Microsoft SMS)
Allows definition of filters that describe which events are forwarded
