Monitoring Talari SD-WAN Appliances

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there is a way to monitor the Talari SD-WAN appliances with SolarWinds. I have the Enterprise MIB file, but I don't know if there is a way to import that into solarwinds. Whenever I try to add an appliance as a device it just shows up like a Debian server. I've heard that the appliances can be integrated well, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Without reviewing your MIB OID's I cannot confirm if these already exist in the Orion MIB database, but the concepts are very straightforward:

1. If the MIB OID definitions are not populated in your Orion and you are NOT running the latest Orion version release, download the latest MIB file from the customer portal and apply to your installation. If they are still not within this update, then:

2. Provide the MIB file to SolarWinds support who will add this to the MIB definition file, which you can then download from the customer portal - Upload MIB in Orion Universal Device Poller - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

3. It is not actually necessary to have a compiled MIB within Orion. If you have the OID, simply enter this into the OID field in the UNDP utility, manually define the settings (GET, GET NEXT etc.). Defining the OID and how to collect and process the data will allow this to be stored and used as normal

4. You may also need to adjust the native pollers to allow the Vendor and Machine type values to be correct and to collect the correct CPU and Memory values - Create Custom Pollers in SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - YouTube & Configure Vendor/Machine type when Orion is unable to detect it - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC.
