Moving Database
lukky753
We have been using Solarwinds NPM for over 4 years, and we are now moving to a new server. I followed the instructions for backing up the database, and restoring it on the new server, then went through, and ran the configuration wizard, and got everything set up. If i load up the web access for it, it shows all of the stats as they were when i backed up the old server, but when i load up the system manager on the server itself, there are no nodes that it is polling, and nothing is up to date.
One thing that i think it might be is that i could not figure out how to modify the restored database to point to the new polling engine...Does anyone know what i am missing? Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.
~Thanks!!!

You're exactly right. You need to reassign the EngineID in the database so that it sees the old Nodes that are still assigned to the old EngineID.
Follow the steps listed in the
Reassigning Nodes to the New Polling Engine
section of this document:
http://www.solarwinds.net/netperfmon/help/admin/Server-Migration.htm
This will also restore any Alerts you may have lost during the migration.
