Dynamic maps

Is the information about the custom maps located in the NetPerfMon database?

I've written a script that downloads a new map every 30 minutes and replaces the old one on the server but it does not seem to update in Orion.

Is there any other way for the map to update?

Well after much trial and error I've come to the conclusion that you can not use animated gifs as the background to a map.

Could someone confirm this for me?
