Active Alerts not appearing on home page with custom view

OK, we have opened case number with support. However, I want to get the opinions here! Events are showing up and can be acknowledged.

We were told by support (someone who has been doing his job a long time and is "GOOD" at what he does) that we need to overwrite the website anytime configuration manager is ran. Is this correct? He also stated that anyone who has used the product knows this. Well, I know the product however, I have read the 8.5 reale notes and admin's guide, reviewed both with him on the line and NO WHERE does it say this.

So, I guess this is 2 fold!

a) why not exclude that question from config mgr. if you must select "YES" anyways?

b) do we need to do this in order for the website to be populated, or system is in a "production" state and we would need to create a change control (again) for this as an outage?

OK, the document has been located and ticket updated by the technician. However, at the solarwinds website the Administrator GuidePDF is different than the Online Administrator Guide. Am I missing something.
