How to discard Syslog in NPM

Hi Team,

I have stopped the Syslog service from Primary and additinal poller, and also blocked the port, 514,6514 and 601; still syslogs are visible under alerts and activity menu.

Please let me know how can I completely stop syslog data to be received in NPM server.

did you originally set up-your alerts in Orion or in the Sylog viewer? if in Orion select the alerts and clear them. or disable the alerts in Orion and in the viewer

Thanks for the quick response.

I have not created any alert for syslogs. but some devices are sending syslog data to NPM, so it is not visible in alerts but visible under syslogs sub-menu under alerts and activity.

Yes, I have disabled syslog service, in primary and all APEs.

There were some other network devices out of our scope .... we had to reach them to stop sending the syslog to our server.

In the Windows Syslog or SNMP Traps viewer application, create a new rule and define the matching criteria for the rule (IP address, message content, etc.) and add an action to 'Discard' the message.
