Orion vs. CiscoWorks HUM - Opinions?

I was wondering if anyone has done a good comparison of Cisco's new HUM (Health & Utilization Monitor) to Orion.

I have SW EE already and am asking for Orion, but my employer purchased HUM for CW2k and wants that to be used instead. From my limited time with HUM it appears to not even be as good as EE. Here is Cisco's description of HUM: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9303/index.html

Am I on base here or missing something? If anyone has any experience or info to help compare the two it would be appreciated. I am going to need some serious justification and want to build as strong a case as I can.

I will say I would be hard pressed to ever buy another Cisco management product again. I've used CiscoWorks for many years and we ditched it for the Cirrus product. Cisco is a good company but they seem to lack to put effort in their management products. I had nothing put problems with CW. So in the end we ditched Concord for Orion and Ciscoworks for Cirrus.

The fact that you can post requests and get help on this forum with Solarwinds is a huge difference for us. Try sending Cisco a request for improvement in their product. Good luck.

I used to work at cisco's TAC, in the NMS team, so I provided support for CWLMS, and... well, from my personal experience, I would use Orion tools, because they are cheaper than LMS, and they have more options, no limitations to cisco equipment, with a lot a similar features, etc.

LMS 3.0 is so expensive compared to Orion tools that you could buy the whole suite and get more fatures to help you in the work.

besides, I've used Engineer's toolset at work for a long time, and it's simple, clear and easy.

However, you could get used to CWLMS and like it, but I think the limitation for only cisco equipment is a bad feature.
